Where has my sense of time gone?! School starts literally in a week. I didn't even notice until today. I'm half-excited and half-worried. I love going to school to learn (I'm a nerd, I know) and also because of the schedule. I have to have my time organized precisely, otherwise, I don't get anything done. During the school year, I'm always way more productive, because I'm already attending a pretty precise schedule for homework and projects and such. My mind is annoying that way.

I'm worried because two of my books aren't in yet and...come one, it's school. I like to learn, but I hate having to get up early and do projects for grades. XD This semester won't nearly be as fun as my last two, considering my only film class is about essays and analysis of films rather than making our own films. Two English classes are bound to give me tons of reading and writing assignments, and I have my doubts about my environment class; that could be heavily based on writing as well. We'll have to see.

Going to school tomorrow to pick up books and scout out my classrooms with my sister and some friends. :) It'll be good to be back on campus. I sort of missed it.

Not much else happened today, other than my parents reaffirming my desire to move out of the house ASAP. I love my family, but somehow, we always rub each other the wrong way and I end up pissing them off way too much lately. Some friends and I are planning to rent together after college, but that's three years away... It seems like forever haha! Let's hope my mother and I don't kill each other in the meanwhile.

I should start going to bed earlier...

Haven't been feeling well lately. At least yesterday I had some fun watching Transformers (the original cartoon version) with Kelly. XD Many laughs were had, because...my GOD, Transformers, what the HELL. It's positively mind boggling how awful that show was. There were TWO Starscreams in the same frame...and then the magically appearing chick in the eighth episode just killed us. It was hilarious.

Kelly: My mind. It's boggled.

Mine too, Kel, mine too.

In other news, I'm working on some craft stuff (magnets and stickers) to sell at an art convention next summer. :) I'm having fun with it, but it is getting a bit expensive. Thankfully I'm working for my aunt now at her house, so I do have SOME income haha.

I can't believe summer's almost over. I'll be a sophomore yet again this year. It seems just like yesterday I was a sophomore in high school, but I suppose that feeling is normal. It's going to be weird not to have a "hands on media class" this semester after the last two semester of having to have movie projects due every other week. XD I only have one film course (my last core class!!) and its an analysis class, so all I'll be doing is writing response papers to films we watched in class. All my other courses seem to be writing-oriented too (two English classes finally haha) so I'll be kept busy anyway.

Lately, I've been more motivated to get more...serious about my film career. I'm going to be practicing with After Effects more and I want to work on some short film projects for practice as well. While I know I will probably be using my film degree mostly for side jobs (and my English degree will be my main job focus), I want to become better with filming. I suck as a director and camera operator, and I will probably focus on screenwriting in my senior year, but I have a lot of personal, independent projects (The Philadelphia Experiment, Inside My Mind, me and Kelly's crossover...) that I want to be good, you know? So I have to practice. Also for like...school stuff too. Haha.

I'd really love to get a nice camera, but considering how expensive they are (the one I'm looking at is around $3500...), I'm going to have to wait quite a bit before I can get one. D: The one I have isn't too shabby, but definitely not suitable for some of my future projects. We'll see.

Well, I'm off to write some more (heeeeeey, Manigoldo, how've you been?) and probably work on some magnets. How typical of me to get productive at the END of summer, hmm? Ah well, at least I'm working more~

Hmm. I have started and deleted many blogs over the years, so here's to hoping this one survives my indecisiveness.

My name is Becca and I'm a sophomore in college, aiming for double majoring in both English and Film Studies. Quite the combo, yes? I live at home with my family and have a rotund kitty named Ninja. I have many interesting and awesome friends and I'll probably be telling you all about them at different points in this blog.

I am an avid writer and my biggest goal is to someday become a published author. I have about a hundred writing projects stored on my computer, doomed to remained unfinished, except for about ten of them. You can check out my writing blog for my writing woes and triumphs. I also write fanfiction, (which I consider a "writing retreat" haha.) I also draw silly comics, but I'm trying to improve to the point that I could also work on some of my graphic novel ideas. We'll see.

I have a few quirks, but so does everyone. I'm not sure exactly what I am planning to do with this blog yet, as this site (rkwashburn.com) is supposed to someday be the hub of my networking, either as an author, a film editor or a combination of things. I think my best bet is to use the site for now as a place to collect my thoughts, since I'm always running out of mental space to keep them. Maybe I will be amusing to those who stop by here. Maybe.

School begins at the end of the month (yeesh) so maybe I'll have more to talk about then. :) For now, I have some writing things to attend to~
